Dan in Real Life

Rating: ★★★★½

We saw this movie a few weeks ago and since we just started the “movie reviews” I wanted to mention it.  Dan in Real Life staring Steve Carell (Dan) and Juliette Binoche (Marie) is about a man who lost his wife and has raised his three daughters on his own.  Dan and his daughters go to a family reunion of sorts when an unexpected love interest throws the whole trip for a curve.  Not only is this a hilarious movie, but the sound track is great and turned me into a Sondre Lerche and the Faces Down fan.

Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium

Rating: ★★★★☆

Erin and I watched Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium this evening and I have to say, for a kids movie, I really enjoyed it!  Natalie Portman, Jason Bateman and Dustin Hoffman star in this great kids flick filled with magic in which Mr. Magorium (Hoffman) passes down his magical toy store to Molly (Portman).

They live among us…

The mischevious aliens are living among us.  Origonally they came to Earth to search for intelligent life.  Seeing none, they scheduled their departure countdown but while reboarding their space craft the alien on the left dropped his communications device and one of the troublesome Earthling telecommunications companies found it and started selling it.  At first they tried to recover it but were unable to.  So instead as retribution for stealing their communications devices they have assumed new identities and have been terrorizing the crazy Earthlings.  They think they are so smart…

(Sam had two pig tails, she ripped one out… Looked like the pink PrimeCo alien.)

Picture Overload

I just did a camera dump so here are a bunch of pics from the weekend.

Sammy before her appointment:

She was a little nervous in the car on the way there but she was pretty good. On the way back she passed out. By the way - Sammy is 100% better. Her knees are better than they were before. She still has to walk and swim for strength, but she should be just fine!

Sammy and I went to Naperville after her appointment. Look at the cute new harness she got! She pranced around downtown Naperville in her new outfit and showed it off to everyone.

Waiting for Grandma to come over:

Loki was afraid of the storm…

This is how Sammy wakes up in the morning, IF her hair band is still in at all:

And for a Happy “Dog-Mothers” Day, Sammy puked on my pillow and the bed this morning at 5am. Somehow she managed to NOT get it on herself so thankfully she did not need a bath. In my Zombie-like state I changed the sheets and brushed her teeth and went back to sleep for an hour before we had to get up to go to breakfast. Thanks Sam for reminding me it’s not THAT much different than having kids.

I love this face!!

OK I know there have not been as many Loki pictures, but that is because Loki’s hair was so long he looked scruffy and fat. We saw Miss Jan this weekend and she gave them their summer cuts. I got my skinny happy Loki back! Look at that face. How could you not love that face????

Sammy is cute too!
