The other evening the monster was sitting in the corner chewing away. It looked as though he smuggled in a stick from outside. I tried to chase him (yeah… this was quite a process) and he was just too fast hence indicating that what ever he had must have been good. So after setting a Loki trap by slightly repositioning the ottoman along the couch, I finally caught him! He had a new treat that Erin found for him at Wet Nose called a Bully Stick. It’s some sort of beef tendon that is supposed to be more digestible than compressed rawhide. I don’t think he’s ever been more content. He chewed on this thing for hours! So the moral of the story is, if your crazy little monster is driving you nuts during the day, give him (or her) a Bully Stick. It’s sure to keep them occupied.

To the average reader this may seem like a boring post but for those of you who have visited our home know what a pain it is to have to go all the way North to Wheeler just to turn around and back track to Park. But alas! The Jewel project is taking shape and this past week they started preparations for putting Park Ave. through Route 47. All that’s left is paving of the median and a stop light. Can you feel the excitement?
Is it just me or does it seem like the insects are taking over? This year it seems like there are a lot more insects buzzing around including those stupid little annoying nats! Last night I declared war on a squadron of yellow jackets attempting to stage a camp by our front door. Equipped with a quality can of Acme Bug Spray, I put the stingers out of commission. But, just when I thought it was safe to leave the house I found this monster hiding under the car! I wish I had a ruler next to him for the picture so you could truly appreciate his size. It was at least 4 inches long!
Hurrah! A new version of m0n0wall has been released! Most noticeable improvement is some new code for viewing statistics by ip address and some fixes to the mobile ipsec vpn. If you haven’t tried a Linux based router before but would like to, I highly recommend m0n0wall. Its extremely easy to use and does the job quite nicely. Those looking for a slightly more advanced solution should check out pfsense. It’s still in alpha right now but there is a beta coming soon.
